It all began in 1986, on a balcony on Saint-Hubert Street. Three friends, beer in hand, dreamed of a Montreal microbrewery... and dared to challenge the brewing giants.

From that balcony, Belle Gueule was born, the oldest independent microbrewery in Quebec still in operation today.

The winged lion reveals itself

Since its inception, Belle Gueule has had a mysterious logo: some saw it as a genie, others as a winged horse. But behind the ambiguity, there was already the presence of a lion.

In 2025, it removed its hood. The silhouette became clearer, the wings spread: the winged lion finally revealed its true nature. A symbol of freedom and strength, it embodies the spirit of Belle Gueule: bold, independent, untamed.

The founders' historic triangle now welcomes the winged lion, guardian of heritage and driver of modernity.

Mellow with a refreshing bitterness, Belle Gueule Originale is a lager of the highest distinction brewed since 1988.
