EDUCATED, BRAVE AND BOLD.
At the start of the 17th century, Catholic priests came to New France in the hope of evangelizing the Indigenous peoples. These missionaries were mainly Recollects and Jesuits. At the sight of their clothing and serious looks, the Indigenous nicknamed them the “black robes.” These educated, brave, and bold men lived in First Nations villages and slept among them in their huts. Some often travelled alone to remote areas.
It is in tribute to their courage that our master brewers imagined this valiant black beer with notes of chocolate that will no doubt convert you.
